The Friends of Mt Lawson group was formed in 1998, as a volunteer friends group for the Mt Lawson State Park. The group has been involved in several projects in conjunction with Parks Victoria including the viewing platform at the Trestle Bridge at the Koetong entrance to the park,Information boards, and development of a Bushwalkers' map. |
|
The Friends of Mt Lawson meet three or four times a year to keep the walking tracks clear and carry out some maintenance of camping areas, usually followed by a picnic tea and socialising. They are involved in small projects when funding is available and general monitoring and enjoyment of this beautiful park. The key features of the Mt Lawson State Park are The Mt Lawson Summit walk, The Conic Range walk, The Flaggy Creek Falls, The Kurrajongs Picnic area and the Flaggy Creek Walk (from the Kurrajongs to the Flaggy Creek Falls), the Koetong Creek Camping areas, the Spa pools on the Koetong Creek track (walking access only) and the aboriginal paintings. |

Wild flowers are abundant in spring and early summer, the scenery is stunningly beautiful at all times of the year and the wonderfully diverse bush of this area offers scenic drives and occasional glimpses of the native wildlife. |
