Jingellic Show

Sunday March 2nd 2008

The show must go on; the horses were out now they are in. The motorbikes were organised now the Moto Trials Display is in and the Upper Murray Stockman's Motorbike Challenge is out. These are the dilemmas faced due to the equine influenza outbreak.

All the other events will run as normal including cattle, poultry, pavilion, Hobby Horse Cup, camel cart rides, chainsaw carving, pet parade, helicopter rides, Beaut Ute Competition, antique machinery display, Jack the Whipper, sideshows, stalls, animal nursery etc.

The cattle Junior Paraders & Judging are on Saturday evening followed by the Lion's Club barbeque and music by the 4 piece Melbourne country rock band "The Prairie Oysters".

The band was engaged through "Aussie Helpers" a self help group originating in Queensland to deal with the pressures of the drought. It was started by a remarkable man, Brian Egan. Brian and Aussie Helpers was featured on Australian Story recently. The band has waived their usual fee and are just covering costs, recognising the difficult times rural communities have faced in recent times.

So please come and join us on Saturday evening 1st March and Sunday 2nd March and make our 81st Show a success.
